Which of the titles in the Songs & Chords list (if any) are Marquesan songs?
Songs by Te Ava Piti, Gabilou & Tamarii Ahutai are from French Polynesia. Himene tarava(church songs)are usually only choral. Himene Tatarahapa is a kind of adapted church song.
We learnt 'TO TE AO NEI' on the Aranui3 cruise of the Marquesas recently. Could you put the Tahitian words into English? I'd happily transcribe them if you don't have a copy. It's a beautiful song, like everything else Tahitian we heard on the cruise.
Hey, really like your site. Can you post the lyrics for the song below and the chords if you have time? Love the smooth, mellow groove and melody. The title of the YouTube video is "Katu- Roimata noou"
IAORANA!... J'habite à l'Argentine. J'aimerais d'avoir les paroles de la chanson "TE AUE NEI" en tahitien, par TE AVA PITI, et savoir qu'est que la chanson dit. Je sais qu'il est une chanson profonde et espéciale. MAURUURU ROA.
Bought a tahitian uke in Bora Bora last week. Brought it back to the US and been having a blast playing it. So much fun! Thanks for this site. Being a guitar player I had no idea ukes of all types were so popular! Glad I got my hands on a more "rare" Tahitian uke. Love the sound!
Hey gang! Big hello from Toronto, Canada. Loving my uke but I read something about quality of strings. My strings are fishing line and I had planned on replacing them with fishing line when they went. What test do you reccomend?

Which of the titles in he Songs list are from French Polynesia? And what are the songs about? I'd like to learn one or two non-religous songs.
